Hourly to salary calculator

Enter your hourly wage and weekly hours to see annual, monthly, biweekly, weekly and daily equivalents, plus an after-tax estimate.

How the conversion works

Annual pay = hourly wage × hours per week × 52 weeks. A standard full-time job is 40 hours a week, or 2,080 hours a year. Monthly pay divides the annual figure by 12; biweekly pay covers 80 hours (two 40-hour weeks).

The after-tax estimate applies 2026 federal income tax (single filer, standard deduction) and FICA. State income tax varies — check your state on our salary after tax pages for a fuller picture.

Estimates for reference only, based on 2026 published rates. Not tax, legal or financial advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many working hours are in a year?

A 40-hour week across 52 weeks is 2,080 hours. With two weeks of unpaid vacation you'd work 2,000 hours; paid vacation keeps the full 2,080 paid.

Does this include overtime?

No. Overtime is paid at 1.5× your rate beyond 40 hours per week — use our overtime calculator to add it.

Is the after-tax number exact?

It's a 2026 estimate for a single filer with the standard deduction and no state tax. Your withholding, filing status and state will change it.
